The Drone Bee, a male whose main purpose is to fertilize the queen, has been replicated here as a large sterling silver necklace pendant.

The body of the insect is hand-sculpted in wax and then cast in 925 sterling silver. The wings are hand cut from a thin silver plate that has been textured using horse hair. The horse hair creates a surface pattern that mimics the beautiful and delicate veins of the insect’s wings.
